Board of Education Recognizes Educator Commitment
(WAYNE,NJ)—The Wayne Township Board of Education is proud to recognize the efforts of five highly dedicated educators for their commitment to a district-wide initiative.  Director of Elementary Education Donna Reichman presented certificates to Reading Specialists Elizabeth Sponenburg, Debra Nussbaum, Suzana Adamo and Margaret Pisani.  Assistant Director of Student Support Services Erica Cerilli-Levine was also recognized for her successful program implementation and professional support efforts.  Click here for the press release.

8th Grade Washington DC Trip Information and Sign-up!
Hello Parents/Guardians of current 8th graders,

We are now accepting the first payment for the the 2017 Washington DC trip. The trip will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 through Friday, May 19, 2017. In order to reserve your child's place on the trip please complete the following: Read and adhere to the payment schedule in the Washington Parent/Guardian letter, fill out the student information Google Form, make your $200 deposit/first payment on Community Pass, and finally sign and return the permission slip. The letter and permission slip has been sent home with your child. Hyperlinks to all needed items are provided below.

If you are interested in being a parent chaperone for the trip, please fill out the the following Google Form by clicking here. We will be selecting about 8-10 chaperones. Chaperone selection is based on student population need. Chaperones will be selected and contacted sometime in November once we have a total count of students and teachers attending the trip.

Schuyler-Colfax Color-A-Thon Fundraiser Friday, October 7, 2016
In order to kickoff a colorful year, the Schuyler-Colfax PTO and Student Council will be sponsoring the first ever COLORUN!!! Members of the Schuyler-Colfax school community who register and raise/donate $30 will be able to participate! Participants will also receive a color-a-thon T-shirt, race bag, and a color pack they use use during the race! The more money you raise, the more color packs you get to use during the race!

Register and raise money online by just by clicking here and use the Group I.D. 120338 or return your envelope with your donations no later than Tuesday, September 20th.  Prizes are not guaranteed after this date.

Event date: Friday October 7, 2016. (registration 3:00-4:00 pm. Run begins 4:00 pm - run will last about and hour)

Schuyler-Colfax Middle School, after being awarded a Sustainable Schools for Jersey grant to create a school garden, has been working diligently to clear courtyards and begin the planting process.  Follow our progress on Instagram on https://www.instagram.com/scms_gardenproject/.
Schuyler-Colfax Middle School wins garden grant
Sustainable Jersey for Schools announced the 46 New Jersey schools and school districts selected to receive Sustainable Jersey for Schools small grants funded by the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA.) Schuyler-Colfax Middle School was awarded one of eleven $10,000 grants to establish a "Digging in the Dirt" school garden program.  Stay tuned as we  transform our upper courtyards to produce gardens.
